Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, tools, and related services offered by LA Tax Hub (the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. It is incorporated by reference where applicable.
What the Services are (and are not)
The Services provide general educational information about property taxes in the Los Angeles area and related topics. The Services are not legal, tax, or financial advice and are not provided by any government agency. Official rules, deadlines, assessments, and procedures change; you are responsible for verifying information with the appropriate government offices and qualified professionals.
Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use features that require an account or payment. You may not use the Services if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
Accounts and security
If you create an account or use sign-in (including third-party sign-in such as Google where offered), you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent allowed by law. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access at info@lataxhub.com.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate applicable law, infringe others’ rights, or attempt to access non-public areas without authorization.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, introduce malware, or probe or bypass security or rate limits.
- Scrape or harvest data from the Services in a manner that harms performance, violates robots.txt (if published), or breaches these Terms.
- Use the Services to generate or spread fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading content about tax obligations or official processes.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with any government agency or with LA Tax Hub, or imply endorsement where none exists.
User content
If the Services allow you to submit content (such as messages, files, or profile fields), you retain ownership of your content but grant us a non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and use that content as needed to operate and improve the Services. You represent that you have the rights to submit the content you provide. We may remove content or suspend access that violates these Terms or creates risk.
Intellectual property
The Services, including text, graphics, logos, and software (excluding open-source or third-party components), are owned by LA Tax Hub or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial educational purposes, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Third-party services
The Services may integrate third parties (for example, hosting providers, Convex, Stripe for payments, Google for sign-in). Your use of those services may be subject to the third party’s terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond what the law requires.
Advertising and commercial features
The Services may include advertising or sponsorship placements, self-serve advertiser tools, or similar commercial features. Advertisers are responsible for their own compliance with law and platform rules. We may display ads based on context or general placement; unless we state otherwise, ads are not endorsements by LA Tax Hub of any product, service, or political position.
Donations, fees, and payments
If we enable donations, subscriptions, or other payments, pricing and billing terms will be presented at the point of purchase. Payments may be processed by a third-party processor. To the extent permitted by law, fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as explicitly stated at purchase.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LA TAX HUB AND ITS TEAM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100), EXCEPT WHERE LIMITATION IS PROHIBITED BY LAW.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold harmless LA Tax Hub from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, creates risk, or is otherwise necessary to protect users or the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Changes
We may modify the Services or these Terms. If we materially change the Terms, we will post the updated version and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.
Governing law; disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules in your jurisdiction provide otherwise. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, subject to any non-waivable rights you may have under law.
General
If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede prior agreements on that subject.
